近代中國網是以中國近現代史研究為主題的公益性的專業網站。為了適應學術研究的需要和網路技術的發展，在本網站創辦二十周年（1999-2019）之際，特對欄目設置和技術系統進行全面更新。新版使用說明如下：
1、本網站啟用新網域名稱：modernchina.org ，原網域名稱：china1840-1949.com 持續有效，搜尋引擎優化位址以新網域名稱為准，原網域名稱連結位址將逐漸失效；
2、本網站遵循“中華人民共和國著作權法”和“知識共享署名3.0中國大陸許可協議”的規則，為著作權人的學術作品提供網路推廣服務，以提升其學術影響力和社會影響力；
3、本網站主要發佈與中國近現代史研究相關的理論、方法、評論、書訊和反映史學主潮的專題研究作品，以及相關的專業資訊和文獻資料，供研究、交流和普及參考；

A Note on the New Edition of Modern China Network （2019）
Modern China Network is a professional website which aims at the dissemination of scholarly information concerning the studies of modern Chinese history for the public benefits. In order to meet the needs of academic research and to follow the new trends of technological developments， on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of this website （1999-2019）， we have updated the column settings and upgraded the technical system in a comprehensively manner. The instructions for the new edition are as follows:
1．The new domain name of the website is modernchina.org which replaces the old name of china1840-1949.com. However， the used domain name will remain valid for the time being. The search engine has optimized the new website， while the former link of the old name will ultimately become invalid.
2．This website follows the rules of The Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China and The Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 China Mainland License Agreement. It provides network information and offers related services for the copyright owners’ academic works in order to enhance their academic and social influence.
3．This website mainly posts the relevant theories， methodologies， critical commentaries， scholarly reviews， new book information， and other academic works in order to disseminate information concerning the main trends of the study of modern Chinese history. Other related academic information and relevant literature will also be included for the purpose of promoting historical research， scholarly exchanges， and popularization of historical knowledge.
4．The opinions of all articles or works published on this website do not represent the position of the website. If any works are suspected for violating laws， infringing academic ethics， and breaching network rules， this website reserves its rights of deleting them without obtaining the agreements of the copyright owners.
